messenger, anyone? (it's AFS time!)

it's not a journey, but a report nonetheless...

awright i went for the third part of AFS (indonesia, INAYPSc) selection, against 149 (or less) other tenth graders. well, i got some new friends anyway.

according to the website... well it says it starts 7 am sharp. but! i saw that notice board and could only whine.

"8:30 - 14:00"

what!? 1.5 hour delay!? and it's now just 6:19? *faints*

okay i didn't fainted but still, i just sat there until the committee guys came.

roughly 2.23196 minutes later i got my name tag.

"A1" it says. does that signify that i'll go first? yes! certainly.

they divided 150 into 5 groups, and there's also 10 test rooms (A till J)

that means? in a single given group (1 - 5) there will be 3 people with the same letter-and-number (let's say alphanumeric) combination.

that's right, 2 other people got "A1" too. one of them is female and the other one... well, you know.

and the girl went first. i had a friendly chat with the other "A1"er.

accidentally, one of the committee guys called him. now i know i'll be last. there were only less than 50 people remaining, and i chatted with those from group 4. (what?)

we talked for quite some time, about the AFS itself till TV commercials. i learnt somethings such as...

  • Foreign commercial from developed country generally is short and manages to get the message across.

  • Indonesian commercial generally doesn't reflect WHAT the product's advantages and sometimes have no relation with the product itself. They can get unrealistic also. Though there are some good commercials but they're very rare. RONCAR is a kitsch i say.

  • Commercials from Thailand (IIRC) can get as long as a short film. But I disregard this as an exaggeration as she said that it was about 5 minutes.

  • now another question riddled me. how long does your usual short film last?

oh yeah, now there's only 15 people remaining. 5 people were called.

10 remaining. they have 9 runners only. that means these 10 people will get called altogether.

this time my assumption was proven true. 10 people went together, and "B" group went in the exam room immediately, while i had to wait for 7 minutes roughly.

Group Dynamics (literally), the test is all about your artistic skills, your ability to communicate with others, and the power to make the judges impressed with your perfect answers. try to get the answer as "Hi-Quality" as possible. 480p HD maybe? *facepalms*

after making your work (it maybe a kitsch lol) you must make a little presentation about what is it all about. then judges will ask, you will answer. (sounds like a beauty pageant.)

actually you must make your work as meaningful as possible. too bad my group didn't finish it, at least we managed to get the message across (like a messenger). oh well.

now i finished at about 12:15 (how off was them?) and had a little talk with the remaining people. and 12:30 my aunt arrived. at that time, only two people remained. me and my fellow teammate.

luckily for her, right when my aunt arrives, her whoever-it-was-driving-the-car arrives at the scene, saving her from the nobody-is-left-now-i-am-lonely virus.

later, raindrops soon form and from in big droplets and it rained heavily. and also traffic jam everywhere. damn. after the rain is gone, i feel like seeing rainbow. but it's not there. so let's say it was an "aura rainbow". heheh. sounds so Lucario-ish

but anyway, i got home. btw, bulbagarden crashed hard. i brought my 3x3x3 too. it wasn't any use. just kidding, it eased the attempt to talk with someone you don't know anyway.

now i need a drink. also hungry.

    *ate a via seed*

    see ya!

    *warps away*
